| Collegiate Housing & Infrastructure Act (CHIA) Making College More AffordableMeans Keeping Student Housing Costs Under Control. The highcost of college is a threat to educational equality and Americancompetitiveness. A quirk in thetax laws allows colleges and universities to use charitable contributions tobuild and maintain student housing while preventing other not-for-profitstudent housing entities from doing the same thing. This session will provide an update on the Bill and where it is in the House and Senate.

| Pete Smithhisler, Executive Director, North-American Interfraternity Conference Pete Smithhisler, president and CEO for the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), is responsible for representing the interests of fraternal organizations, managing the Coalition Assessment Project, and coordinating daily interactions with any of the NIC’s 73 member organizations, five million alumni, or 800 campuses. He has served the NIC for 11 years as vice president for leadership education, vice president for media and community relations, and was appointment to the role of chief executive on August 1, 2007. His experience in government, with higher education partners, and within the industry makes him one of the nation’s foremost advocates for the fraternal movement.

| Mike Hug, Hug & Associates
Michael Hug is an alumnus of the Alpha Tau chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and received architectural degrees from Georgia Tech (BS 1980) and the University of Michigan (MArch 1982). Mike spent 10 years with large commercial architectural firms, prior to starting his own design oriented Architectural / Interior Design firm, Hug & Associates, in 1992. His firm designed the Theta Chi and Beta Theta Pi houses at Georgia Tech, and the Pi Kappa Alpha house at the University of Illinois. He is currently designing a new chapter house for Kappa Sigma at Georgia Tech. The Beta Theta Pi house received an Urban Design Award for "Sensitive Infill" within a Historic District.

| Janice Wittschiebe, Richard Wittschiebe Hand As a registered Architect and Interior Designer, LEED AP (Accredited Professional) and Alpha Xi Delta Alumnae she brings a wide range of abilities and understanding to fraternity/sorority planning and design. She also brings her experience as AXD Building Corporation VP of Facilities regarding the maintenance and operations side of the equation. RWH, in business since 1973, provides masterplanning, programming, architectural and interior design. RHW has completed seven fraternity and sorority projects on several campuses and is currently assisting three others with planning.

Fundraising can be a daunting task. Who likes asking their friends and pledge brothers or sisters for money? This workshop will help explain the process of conducting a feasibility study as well as steps to consider when considering a capital campaign. Topics will include: tax deductibility; volunteer training; study and campaign timelines; and Donor Demographics.

| Bill Paris, The Laurus Group Bill, Principal of The Laurus Group, has served as a director of the National Fraternity of Kappa Delta Rho, Inc., and also as a trustee of the Kappa Delta Rho Foundation. In 1993 Bill was selected to be the Executive Director of the National Fraternity of Kappa Delta Rho and the Kappa Delta Rho Foundation. In 2005 Bill and Brian joined forces to form The Laurus Group.
Brian Bates, The Laurus Group Brian, Principal of The Laurus Group, currently serves as President of the TKE Atlanta Area Alumni Association, is part of the regional volunteer servicing team, and serves on the Life Loyal Teke Committee. After graduation, Brian worked for TKE for three years, last serving as regional director in 1993 overseeing 112 chapters and colonies in the Northeast United States.

Roger will focus on choice of entity and ownership structure possibilities, unrelated business income issues and state tax nexus issues. Dan practices in the areas of fraternal law, local government, eminent domain, constitutional law and land use/zoning.

| Eric Soete, Culinary Consultants CCI is the nation’s only group purchasing organization that focuses exclusively on fraternity and sorority food programs. Our core business is to ensure these organizations decreased pricing on food and equipment purchases while increasing their service and quality of products to each individual chapter. CCI negotiated a contract with one of the largest and most reputable food distributors in the nation called US Foodservice. This contract on average reduces every chapters overall weekly invoice by 15 % from their current food provider and changes virtually nothing about the way their current food program is being run.
